I'm sorry if this question has been answered or asked before, but I have tried searching for an answer to no avail. How do I use FMRTE as a tool for looking through the player database? I know I can use the search function to single out a player I already know the name of, but what if I wanted to browse through the db? Is that possible with the newest version?

Well, if I understand you correctly then all you need to do is click on the search function. When the search screen appears just click on search and after a few seconds every player in the DB for your game will appear both the good and the bad. To refine your search for a GK for example click on the GK icon on the formation screen, there are four levels to click/choose from yellow-brown-light green-dark green signifying how good a player is at that position. Choose the 4th option the bright green one and click on search and again a few seconds later all the GK's will appear. You can refine your search parameters by setting age ie From-To and whether a player is a EU national(handy for EU leagues) or CA(current ability) or PA(possible ability). Double clicking on a player name in the results screen will get you a new screen with all the details on that player from stats through contract, etc etc. You can do the same search for Staff and Clubs by clicking on the relevant icon at the top of the search screen.

I use the search filter like you want to as a scout tool have done for years

but wasn't aware until recently you can just search by regen only :D

that's brilliant as I am finding regens being produced are toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good  ie found four15 year olds with higher pa than messi, and 3 were from Scotland????

bit of a game breaker that as all could have been signed for virtually nothing as on youth contracts, so I used fmrte to reduce these unrealistic regens

this is why I love this product its fantastic

There are many young boys with very high potential that never reach their peak in real life for various reasons, so it's still kinda sorta realistic. I mean, you could find yourself in front of the next Messi at some point, but the kid fails to deliver because he wasn't played enough or he didn't hold much promise due to his attitude. Sure, I found kids with high PA (in the 190s), but very poor professionalism and determination, which means that it would be a miracle if their CA ever reaches that level.

if you search DB prior to regen intake there are very little payers aged 15-18 with high ie over 180 PA

so that is the DB SI have set(there is only 1 player in DB with a -10 PA at game start, that tells a story)

then regens are generated and there are more than a dozen with that magical -10 and loads of players in top 180's and from countries that do not produce this in real life

if you search si website there are threads complaining about this being a game breaker(one excellent thread give full details how game was broken by this ie national teams were 50% plus of very young regens in a short time all ousting players we see in real life described as world class, SI closed the thread their usual move when they have a known issue....biggest example of that the feedback thread is no longer up either I was told because it was toooooooooooooooooooooo negative they cant have that!!!!!)

its just a heads up anyway if you are happy with it carry on mate, just lucky we have this great product to help if we want

happy editing
