Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't see anything.

What does the number in brackets mean next to CA/PA?

Hi!

Welcome to the forum!

That is the ability difference between CA and PA 142-103 = 39

So your player can improve 39 points in ability to reach his potential.
