I am playing with Galatasaray in FM24, on second season onwards foreign player rule is changing from 14 to 12. In fact, this did not happen in real life. So to follow that, I wanted to keep 14 foreign players by adding Turkish to +2 players and make them “domestic” It worked in first season I did with 2 players. But in now second season, even though the other nationality is added, player is still counted as foreign player.

I do not know if this is a bug and maybe someone with same experience can help me.

Could be a bug. Anyway try reinstalling FMRTE and try again. Report back any updates.

Thanks for your reply. I will try that. But still wonder what you are thinking, could it be something with FMRTE? It looks like it is doing its job, adding the nationality in game. Thing is that somehow it is not recognized by the game for registration.

By the way, I tried to change the nationality of player completely, then it works. Only other nationality is not working. Funnier thing, 1 season back this was working with other players without any problems.

Update: Unfortunately installng FMRTE did not solve the issue.

because the rules of the Turkish league doesn’t allow dual national players to count as a non-foreign, only Turkish players count. Since the rules are changing at the start of the 2nd season, the editor of the database may have forgotten to change that rule or that is the intended behaviour because of the Turkish football federation wants it that way. For instance I remember Yusuf Demir was counted as a foreign player like 2 years ago and Gala board were trying to change it

You are right about the Turkish federation rule. When you start the game foreign rule is limited at 14. After second season, it changes to 12. I actually did use FMRTE to tackle this, when it first happened. I added second nationality Turkish on Muslera and Mertens, and they were no longer foreign. I still have Muslera in my team and he is not counted as foreign. See screenshot.

@quiroga have added some pictures.

Muslera and Mertens both retired from international football but Yusuf Demir hasn’t so maybe that is the case. Try it on another foreign player who is still playing for his national team

I have tried it on another player, Davinson Sanchez, who is still playing for national team, it did not work on him either. But I do not think that’s about it, back then Muslera was still playing in national team.

When I changed the first nationality of player, then it’s not counted as foreign. Any other second nationality addition does not work.

it should work by changing the other nationality to Turkey, it isnt with the SI in game editor too

but we used to able to add nations treated as non foreign under the agreements tab there you could add/remove countries if that could be added back it should fix this

FYI try changing the number of days he has been in turkey to meet citizenship think it is 5 years see if that helps

I found the same issue as you but if I ran the game for 2 weeks[and once the registration window had closed eg 15/9/23

I saw fgn go from info panel in the 3 players I edited-

Sanchez,Aurier and Torreira

they all are registered as non foreign for the league

@culturedleftfoot thanks for your reply! If I understand correct, you see those players as non-foreign after the registration ends. My issue is I need them to be non-foreign before registration because I am over the foreign limit currently.

What is strange is that I recently signed a new player, and when I add nationality to that player, he was no longer foreign. But when I try on my existing 3 players, Sanchez, Torreira, Yusuf Demir, it did not work.

I also tried changing “days in country” value before, it did not work either, even though I changed it to 10 years +.

If by agreements you mean the league settings, I will have to check this again. So far I only worked on the player’s “Relations” page, by adding other nationality. In the meantime, I have tried it on one another player, Tete, it also works on him. Somehow, those 3 mentioned are not working.

The long and short of it is the fgn issue is working for me but not as I believe it should be, this should work instantly and not several weeks later so report as a bug

FYI there are strange rules for Turkey[similar to Italy and non EU] which may be causing the conflict in game, these rules can only be addressed using the pre game editor

perhaps like for Italy Braca has added the treated as non EU /a button treated as foreign in turkey?
