Hello everyone!
I still haven’t bought FMRTE24 and, as per title, I’d like to know if it’s possible to mass edit coaches favourite formations.
Basically, what I’d want is for every AI coach in the game to use exclusively formations with NO defensive midfielders.

My idea was to filter coaches by favourite formation, and replace each formation with its no-DM counterpart. But it seems I can’t filter coaches by formations, so is there any other way? Maybe a custom preset?

Doing so for every coach one by one would be a MASSIVE pain :D

P.S. I own both a mac and a windows desktop

The option to set a preset is there, and therefore in theory be able to mass edit

but I have had to add the value myself and didnt get it to work as intended

so only @BraCa can confirm if this does work and what goes into the value field to get the desired result

From what I’ve gathered, even if I were to understand how to use a preset like that, it seems it’d still be impossible to, say, mass edit all coaches with a 4231 DM favourite formation, as I can’t filter them by that attribute.

So, unless @BraCa can save me, one-by-one it is, I guess 🤣

Oh, great, I’ve bought FMRTE only to find out that when I edit an AI coach favourite formation, it becomes “not set” after loading the game.
Feel so cheated right now.

I took my time to test this for you[this is not my job]

I literally told you it wasn't working as intended and tagged the Dev for an explanation so why didn't you wait?

It was your decision to buy the product before getting an update

So do not say you were cheated

you didn't wait and that is your own fault

I mean, my question was about mass editing, but I never even considered the possibility that the feature itself, to change an ai coach favourite formation, would not be working correctly in the first place.

Though, to be honest, I didn't mean I felt cheated by you guys specifically, but in a broader sense. A license for FMRTE is so cheap, considering all it can do, I’m a happy costumer anwyay.

I also think I understand WHY it isn’t working. FM24 AI simply can’t handle another formation that is different from the few ones they have hardcoded. I gave Ancelotti the 433 narrow favourite formation, and he got sacked after ten matches!!
I guess they programmed the AI for only a few formations because of the new positional play they added this year.

This is why I said lets wait for the Dev to elaborate😉

eg the system 4-3-3 in game isnt called that in FMRTE it is 4-1-2-3

I believe it will work but we need to know the correct value to enter is it just

4-1-2-3 or 4-1-2-3 DM Wide or

4-1-2-3DMWide it has to be exactly right

please be careful in future using terms like that as I do not want to warn/ban users due to something like this, but it is sorted now😉

But what I meant is that I successfully gave Ancelotti the 433 narrow favourite formation (it’s called like that in FMRTE) instead of the preset 4123… and he couldn’t handle it! It was a total disaster for Real Madrid, and Ancelotti got sacked after ten matches.

FM24 simply can’t handle any formation without a DM, except for the 442 which is still very leacky.
I guess that’s also why, when you load the game, such formations such as 433 narrow are not saved - the game is not programmed to use them.

Just the way it is, I’m afraid.

yes you are right SI messed it up and have restricted the coding for tactics a couple of years back there were many options now as you correctly state it is very limited

we should be able IMO to use our own created tactics for an AI manager to use

There are only 2 available options that do not have DM preset, that is poor

Lol, if you go and check, the 442 diamond, even though it hasn’t a DM in the name, still uses a DM! 🤣
I was trying to remove DMs from the game because they heavily impact attacking midfielders performances. They’re always marked out of the game, and that really frustrates me!
But alas, nothing that can be done

yes its frustrating the AI tactics are being limited IMO a terrible decision by them to give so little options
