FM2014 RTE NOT SAVING EDITS

I just purchase FM2014 RTE license. I can load a game from running FM2014. I can edit numbers on a player but when I hit save the numbers revert to their previous value, in EVERY player, EVERY time. I know the license is not megs expensive but it seems I wasted my money. What am I doing wrong?
