Well I purchased my license earlier today and so I created a game on FM16 and saved so I could then use IFMRTE  to edit my game but I keep getting the popup :

 

information: FMRTE was unable to find Football Manager 2016 running..

Obviously it is running because I am playing the game

please help

I have just purchased the license today too and am having the same problem.
FMRTE was unable to find Football Manager 2016 running. 

But again, i am playing the game. 

It's also quite frustrating to go through thread after thread of people with the same problem and see no replies at all. I know its only £5 or so, but thats too much to waste on something that won't work. 

I got similar problems, but it said it couldn't locate my save game

I am unable to help regarding mac issues  I will pass on to support  they can assist
