Changing players age?

Can anyone confirm if changing a players age actually has any impact. For instance reducing a players age keeps them from retiring?

    Changing the age does have an impact dependent on which route you want to age him towards.

     

    Ok thanks, Can you explain if that would stop a player from retiring? I.e I have a striker who is 33 and want to change his age to say 26?

    You can remove the retirement simply by removing the date in FMRTE.  This is what one of the devs said to do.
