Did a player swap, didn't work but have duplicates of player in squad

As title says, playing with Man City.  Tried swapping 2 different players with Ronaldo of Madrid.  Got an error message and the swap never happened.  However, I now have two entries for Ronaldo in my squad, both showing as not registered but when I click on his name he is still a Madrid player.

Any ideas as to how I can remove him from my squad please?

Oh, and the feature does work as I swapped one player with Messi and that didn't produce any errors.

That feature is hit and miss to be perfectly blunt.  It should be only used as a last resort.  Did you happen to back up your save before you did the swap?

I didn't, no.  However this is now a moot point as the external hard drive I had my FM stuff on has gone kaput and now no longer have access to my save game.  Was planning on uploading a copy this week too.

Just do a single file save, saved monthly.  I do a backup of my saves once a week to another source but hadn't got around to doing it before this save game went kaput.

Right, OK.  Your best option now is to restore to an earlier save, but this will not be current to your corrupt save.
