 I've tried creating a new wonderkid by editing an already existing youth player. His name was Adrán. When I tried editing the name, the first name (Adrián) was changed for all the players with that name. E. g. Adrián Colunga would now be Troels Colunga etc. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a bug?

This is a long-standing issue and very troublesome if not done correctly.  The trick is to use the most least common name so you only see just a handful of changes.

 

In the search bar at the top right, search for player name.  That will give you the solution you seek.
