I wondering to buy the Linux version of FM2014 on Steam, and I would like to know if FMRTE works properly on this OS. Anyone already tried it?

Try FMRTE with Wine.  I have tried it but could not get it to work.

Wine? Are you sure?

 

It should read the underlying memory. Wine opens it in a sort of a sandbox so it can't read the memory of the Linux workspace.

That is the most popular method of getting Windows software to work under Linux.

So FMRTE is only for Windows?

 

Nope, you can get it to work with Linux by using Wine if you know how to use it.  I created an entry in the WineHQ forums about it and the following is what it said:

I did try it but no idea on how to get it to work.

If you have the time, you can see if it work for you.  I am sure other Linux users will want to know too.

Now that it seems that FMRTE is not working on Linux, I probably will not buy FM2014 ;(
