The notification to register players for the upcoming season did not appear to occur in my current season in my game (3rd season in), possibly as I am using a modded league. I am therefore unable to register my latest signings.

FMRTE's "Allow Squad Registration Anytime" sounds like it would fix this issue, for me, at least.

However, looking at the AI team I am about to play in the opening game of the season, half of their first-team squad is unregistered, which would appear to confirm that the registration notification did not occur.

So I would like the AI teams to be able to register their players too.

I found this previous thread, in which someone seems to have encountered a similar issue and was hoping to do the same thing in letting AI teams register players:

I'm sorry for being dense, but it's not clear to me whether FMRTE is/was able to fix this issue.

Is it possible?

Thanks.

I will try and provide you with the information you request.

FM Version: 24.4.2

FMRTE version: Not bought FMRTE for FM 24 yet (I've bought FMRTE for older FMs). If it can fix my issue, I will buy it.

Game mode: Original

Playing in Indonesia as playable nation (only nation loaded into game)

So, I'm seeing a couple of possible solutions to my issue:

1) The Allow Squad Registration Anytime toggle

- does this work for the human player's club only or on all clubs in the game?

2) The Preset called Player Squad Registration.json in your 'Sharing Presets and testing Presets' thread.

In that thread, you write:

If you want to apply a preset to all clubs in the DB use the search filter...

So it sounds like it will work on all clubs.

Is this right?

Okay, I bought FMRE 24 and am using FMRTE 24.4.2-build 47.

I enabled 'Allow Squad Registration Anytime'. I saved the game in FMRTE. As a test, I also ticked the 'All Players Interested' as well, to see whether the changes had been registered. Since that appeared to have been activated, the 'Allow Squad Registration Anytime' should also have registered.

However, this did not provide the solution to my problem. In the vanilla unedited-by-FMRTE game, I am able to register my players anytime since they are free transfers, which can be registered any time. The problem is that, due to reaching the squad size limit, I would need to unregister some players in order to register the new ones.

FMRTE's 'Allow Squad Registration Anytime' command does not appear to allow for the unregistering of players.

In the thread I lined to above, user Audere-est-facere wrote: "Heyho. Thx again for your answer. I figured it out. I also created another json file to unregister the payers."

Unfortunately, he does not provide the json for doing this.

Next, I will investigate the Preset option.

Okay, using the Player Squad Registration.json, I appear to have registered all my players, although I haven't played the game yet with the new settings to see whether it's all working okay. I applied this Preset to each of my unregistered players individually. I'm not sure if there's a way to do all players with one click.

It means I have 39 registered players, which is above the 35 allowed registered players, but they are at least showing as registered, which is good.

So one part of my issue looks like it might be solved.

The other part is that I want the AI clubs to be able to register their unregistered players. It's unclear to me whether 'Allow Squad Registration Anytime' applies only to the human player's club or to all clubs in the game.

Success??!

I may have fixed everything in a simple way.

I selected Search in FMRTE and pressed Enter to bring up everyone in the game. I selected Players and highlighted all of them with Ctl + A. Then I right-clicked and applied the Player Squad Registration.json Preset to all of them.

It looks like this has removed the Unregistered label for all unregistered players in all teams.

Is this all good and done, problem solved, or are there any complications I haven't envisaged?

Thanks.

It's interesting - looking at various clubs, it doesn't seem to register every single player. While all first-team players appear to be registered, most players from the youth teams are shown as unregistered.

I think this is a good thing. Instead of having maybe 50 players in a club counting as registered, with a 35-man squad limit, the AI clubs don't appear to be using up their full 35-man quota. So the selection of players registered feels quite natural, as opposed to a forced selection with everyone registered,
