Freeze requirements (Windows)

I am using FM 23 game pass version 0.9.319.0 , which is the latest version as no new updates are appearing, using FMRTE version 23.2.2 build 19.

 

Trying out the freeze function, however can I freeze players and staff once and then open the game again without FMRTE and would the freeze still work or do I need to keep FMRTE open at all times ?

For it to work, FMRTE must be running
