SaveMeJeebus
While i understand that current and potential ability is to do with attritubes, there's also actual rating and potential rating listed next to players on FMRTE. What exaclty do these mean? Would i look at them more so than current ability and potential ability when singing players?
Aduasen
current rating and potential rating are connected to the actual skills of the player and the weighted importance of that skills for the position of the player (you can edit the values for that rating in FMRTE btw) So yes, a player with 120 CA and a current rating of 50 (for a specific position) is better than a player with a CA of 140 and a current rating of only 48. BUT: We do not know exactly how SI calculates the skills for the positions AND it depends on the current tactic you play. The current position rating for example will rate a player on the ML or MR position generally as a wide midfielder but you decide in your tactic if the defensive skills are more important or the offensive skills. In general like every manager in the world you have to find players who fit in your personal tactic and sometimes players with a lower current rating for a position will fit better according to the special role in your team that you give them. gazza1988
It all depends on how you play. What I do with them is like the post I made on the guide thread. You can change the weightings to how you want to play. For example if you like your teams to be aggressive and "in your face" bump aggressive up. If you want you teams to work together bump teamwork and work rate up. The defaults in fmrte are just defaults for that position. To find that good player who can excel in a position you need to tweak the settings a bit. Doing it this way you can find that one player you would otherwise overlook who may not be the best in his position but is the best at what he does and will be reliable and hardworking in not the most technically gifted player in the world. I prefer to have a team of grafters who work hard not some Nancy boy who can do a couple of step overs.
