No. FMRTE 26 works with Football Manager 26 only. For FM27 you need FMRTE 27, or the subscription. Your FMRTE 26 licence stays yours for FM26.

Free lets you scout, so you can load your save and browse and search everything. A licence is a one-time payment for one FMRTE edition that lets you save changes, and it’s yours to keep, with updates for that edition. The subscription gives you every FMRTE edition (12 to 27) and FMKE (for FM20 to FM24), with their updates, while it is active. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your Client Area.

You can no longer activate FMRTE with it. To keep editing, subscribe again or buy a single licence for your edition, which is yours to keep.

The one that matches your Football Manager year, so Football Manager 24 needs FMRTE 24. Every edition from FMRTE 12 to FMRTE 26 is still on sale. Choose yours under “Playing an older Football Manager?”.

Each licence activates on 3 computers you own. With the subscription, it’s 3 per product. Offline activation is there for computers without internet. Moving to a new computer? Contact us and we’ll help.

Not to download. Download and scout without an account. You only sign in when you buy. Your licence is kept in your account, which is how it activates, and you’ll find it later in your Client Area. If you’re not signed in, Buy first asks you to sign in or create a free account, and then the secure checkout opens (see how buying works).

Yes. Since FMRTE 23 it runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. FMRTE 27 doesn’t need System Integrity Protection (SIP) turned off. The first time you use it, a setup wizard helps you connect FMRTE to Football Manager. If you play through the Epic Games Launcher, open the game with Heroic instead. FMRTE 26 and older (back to FMRTE 20) do need SIP turned off on Mac, a one-time change in Recovery mode. Read the guide before you buy.

On Steam Deck, use desktop mode. Each older edition lists the systems it supports.

FMRTE edits your game while it runs. FMKE is a separate Windows app that makes 3D kits from images, and the kits only show in the 3D match engine. FMKE is only for Football Manager 20 to 24 (not FM26 or FM27). FMRTE can change kit colours, but not 3D kits. The subscription includes both, and the licences are sold separately.

Real fixtures and results (updated weekly) and custom start dates, to load before you start a new game. Anyone with an FMRTE licence or the subscription can download them, whichever edition the licence is for. Find them in the Downloads section, which lists the Football Manager versions they are available for.

Yes, or a local model. The Assistant is off by default. Turn it on in Settings, under AI Assistant, then add your own key from a supported provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini, or point it at a local Ollama or LM Studio model. Your save data goes to the provider you pick.
