[19] - Crash upon launch

Question

What bugs/issues did you encounter: Crash upon launching FMRTE

What is your FM version: 19.2.3

What is your FMRTE version: 19.2.3.26 (Any FMRTE from 14 onwards)

Which operating system are you using: Windows 7

Trying to run FMRTE 19 (latest 19.2.3.26), of course as Administrator, but the app crashes every time I launch it. The window goes blank and I get the "FMRTE19 has stopped working. Looking for a solution" message from Windows (7) with "cancel" as the only option to close the error window.

I've installed the most recent version of .NET Framework, 4.7.2 (4.6.2 is present too. No older ones though) and have a plethora of Visual C++ Redestributables. I've also tried to repair some of those installations: a few worked, some returned another error and others got uninstalled successfully.

I suspect there's a conflict with some of those Visual C++ thingies, as FMRTE19 does launch correctly on a Virtual Machine with only .NET and two C++ versions installed.

So, which versions, if any, are actually required for FMRTE to actually work?

BTW, older FMRTE return the same error on this machine...

Ok,

I've figured it out via trial-and-error.

I uninstalled all .NET Framework editions, leaving only the 3.5 version embedded in Windows 7. Then upon restarting FMRTE, I got the regular "this program needs ,NET Framework 4.6.1 to run" error.

So I went on to download and install the 4.6.1 and now FMRTE19 and all the older versions work.
