What anti virus are you using?

and did you download fmrte from here and did you get your license code from here?

I am using norton 360 with no issues- but sometimes when a new version is released it is flagged with a false positive[due to it being new and their filters have limited info to go on so they flag it as a possible issue]

here is last report like yours-

I suggest you contact support via your client area here, and your anti virus provider for details

cheers

I have had the exact same issue - after being a long-time user of FMRTE with no issues. This morning, I opened the program and had a popup from Norton 360, telling me that it was being automatically deleted due to malware concerns. I have since tried redownloading from this website, but anytime I launch the setup, Norton quarantines it and I can’t progress.

I have flagged the file as a false positive to Norton and filed a ticket with the support team here. Fingers crossed there is an easy solution.

me too…This morning my antivirus (AVAST premium security) decided that the program “FMRTE 24 for Windows 24.4.1-build42” is affected by win32:malwarex-gen. I had installed it since it came out and it had never given me any problems.

I also tried to reinstall with the previously downloaded installation file and it gives me an error because it is infected with IDP.generic

Any others suggestions to solve the problem?

I couldn't start fmrte this morning in Australia. Worked out it was a file called Velopack.txt that stopped fmrte from starting. I deleted the file and deleted it from my bin.

Then fmrte was fine to start again. Maybe this is also the issue for others. The file only showed up this morning in the folder for me.

Hello guys,

Sorry but I’ve missed this topic.

Velopack is our installer (

Velopack - A next-gen software installer and update frame...

Use a single cross-platform framework for every programming language and operating system. Build installers and automatic updates for your software in a single command.

) and sometimes it can trigger false positives, that you can ignore, I will also try to contact those AVs vendors and report our false positive to see if they can fix it, if not I’ll see if I can find other ways to avoid that kind of unpleasant issue

I have had no issues but just ran a scan on the BraCa folder and Norton has flagged this[it didnt before]

so I have forwarded to them so they can then state it is a false positive or not

Hi Braca

Thanks for clarifying the above.

I have not had a reply from Norton yet regarding the matter. Is this a separate issue as the file they quarantined isnt called velowpack ?

Can I restore this from being quarantined

This is what the Norton log show regards the file when I hover over the entry-

Yes, the packages folder is where the updater stores updates, those files you listed are generated by the updated and used during the update process

I installed an older version of the program

You mean an older version of FMRTE?

I think I have latest version of FM installed.

I still get this error with AVG.

The only work around I found is to disable AVG….but when I restart my laptop looks like AVG has deleted FMRTE and I have to re-install it every time.
